A320neo Differences Course

February 20, 2019

Throughout the week beginning 21st January, four of the BOSA team were enrolled on the Storm Aviation A320 Neo (CFM LEAP) differences course in London.

The course involved three days of theory and one overnight practical which ran into the early hours of Friday morning. There were examinations held throughout, of which the pass mark was 75% and we are pleased to say that all four of the BOSA team passed.

As we all know, aviation is constantly evolving. New technology means better fuel consumption, less time travelling and new experiences for the customer.

The A320neo is one of the many upgrades Airbus has introduced recently to try and help them maintain their product line as, 'the worlds most advanced and fuel-efficient single-aisle aircraft family.' The A320neo has a choice of two new-generation engines, the PurePower PW1100G-JM from Pratt and Whitney and the LEAP-1A from CFM International. Our team had the chance to train on the LEAP-1A.

Airbus combined several technological advances to created the A320neo. This includes new engine choices, aerodynamic improvements and new cabin features. The A320neo family will offer;

  • Up to 20% savings in fuel burn per seat by 2020

  • Two tonnes of additional payload

  • 500 nautical miles more range

  • Lower operating costs

  • A nearly 50% reduction in engine noise and NOx emissions, which is 50% below the current industry standard.

BOSA is committed to providing our team with the latest training to ensure they are keeping up to date with your ever-evolving fleet. If you would like to learn more about what we do here at BOSA, or how to utilise our services and knowledge, please visit www.bosa.aero.
